Richard Clitherow is a solicitor (England and Wales) and chartered tax adviser with over 28 years advising on various areas of tax law including:

  • corporate and business acquisitions,
  • designing and implementing tax advantaged revenue approved share schemes and unapproved share schemes,
  • investments qualifying for venture capital reliefs (such as the enterprise investment scheme, seed enterprise investment scheme and venture capital trusts),
  • reorganisations,
  • VAT, and
  • stamp duty land tax.

He is also bilingual in English and Spanish.

Experience

  1. Providing stamp duty and SDLT advice on reorganisation of large property investment group.
  2. Managing the EMI scheme of a listed company by drafting options, filing relevant notifications and returns and ensuring that company and individual limits were not breached.
  3. Implementing a joint stock ownership plan for a listed company.
  4. Acting for an institutional investor who was funding a management buy-out of an international group.
  5. Acting for the vendors of a company carrying on cloud storage business.
